'There was blood everywhere': Indian-origin truck driver assaulted in Melbourne outside home, cops call it 'targeted attack'

A 42-year-old Indian-origin truck driver, Supinder Pal Singh, was brutally assaulted by unidentified men early morning in front of his house in Melbourne in what cops now call possibly a ‘targeted attack’. 7News reported that the surveillance footage established that the attack took place around 5 am when Singh was walking to his truck in Catees Street. One of the two attackers ambushed him and knocked him to the ground with a single punch. The second attacker joined and then the two repeatedly kicked and punched Singh until he stopped moving. The attack took place when the family members were sleeping and no one heard anything until Singh managed to drag himself to the front door after the attackers fled. Singh is now being treated for a fractured skull and a broken nose.Supinder’s sister Suman Preet Kaur said the attackers, it seemed, came to kill him. “There was blood everywhere, on the street, in the house, all over his face. They made sure before they left, even kicking him in the head, that he wasn’t moving,” Suman Preet said. While cops are treating the assault as a ‘targeted attack’, the sister revealed that Singh received threats two weeks ago and some unknown men were seen around their residence before. Police did not make any disclosure on whether Singh had any recent dispute with anyone.
