MRPL denies declaring force majeure on exports


Contrary to media reports, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has said that it has not declared force majeure on export of cargoes.

The stock exchanges had sought clarification on a media report which said: ‘MRPL halts fuel exports as Iran conflict disrupts crude flows in West Asia: Report’.

In reply to this, MRPL said: “In this regard, we hereby clarify that the MRPL has not declared any ‘FORCE MAJEURE’ and is unaware about the mentioned news item and its source.”

To a query on whether the company was holding negotiations on the issue, MRPL informed the stock exchanges that it was not holding any negotiations on the issue. To another query, the company said it does not have any undisclosed information that explains the price movement.

On Thursday, the scrip of MRPL closed at ₹196.35 on BSE, up by 2.69 per cent.
