Real estate major Godrej Properties on Wednesday said it has won an e-auction bid, conducted by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO), for a prime land parcel measuring around five acres at an upmarket residential locality in Kolkata.

The proposed premium residential development is expected to generate an estimated revenue potential of around ₹1,650 crore, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The land parcel is located off EM Bypass, Kolkata. The EM Bypass corridor is among the city’s most well-connected and rapidly developing urban stretches, supported by strong physical and social infrastructure. It links major neighbourhoods such as Salt Lake, New Town, Park Circus, Gariahat, and Garia, enabling seamless access to commercial hubs, IT-ITeS clusters, educational institutions, and leading healthcare facilities across the city.

Gaurav Pandey, MD & CEO, Godrej Properties, said, “Kolkata’s homebuyers are increasingly seeking neighbourhoods that offer strong connectivity, dependable social infrastructure, and homes aligned with evolving lifestyle needs. The EM Bypass micro-market reflects this shift, making it an important location for us to deepen our presence.”

With this acquisition, the company endeavours to create a well-planned residential community that supports quality living, adapts to how families want to live today, and continues to deliver long-term value for its customers, Pandey added.

Godrej Properties retained its position as India’s largest developer by the value of residential sales achieved for the last financial year.
