South Central Railway launches Rail Parcel App


South Central Railway (SCR) has launched the next generation ‘Rail Parcel Application’, a comprehensive digital e-marketplace providing a seamless door-to-door parcel booking and delivery service for customers opting to transport parcels through trains.

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR, formally launched the application, the first of its kind in the Indian Railways, at a conclave on Rail Parcel Logistics organised here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srivastava said SCR was the first zone to implement the revolutionary Rail Parcel app. The parcel business is as old as the Indian Railways, and is entering a new era of digital transformation now. 

The Rail Parcel App would bring the parcel office to the pockets of the customers, eliminating the need for filling forms or standing in long queues and offer “faster, more reliable parcel movement, increased transparency and enhanced customer convenience,” he added.

The app integrates first mile (pick-up), mid-mile (transportation by Railways), and last mile (delivery) services into a unified platform, making parcel movement simpler, faster, and more transparent for customers. The next gen Rail Parcel App will serve as a one-stop platform for booking, tracking, and managing parcel consignments.

It has been designed to bring together industry, individuals, businesses, and logistics partners under a single digital ecosystem that ensures end-to-end transport and convenience.
